I’m excited to share with you the final cover art (Korra drawn by Joaquim Dos Santos and painted by me, with a background painting by Fred Stewart) for the upcoming Korra Book One: Air art book, published by our good friends at Dark Horse Books. This was a real labor of love (heavy on the labor) for Mike, Joaquim, and me and all those who helped as we put this book together, and we are so proud of all the great artists’ work inside and can’t wait to share it with all of you. The plan is to do one of these art books per “book” of Korra (so four total), which is daunting yet fantastic.

Have some Korra Krew brotos (bro photos lol) in anticipation of season 2 (pigs will fly and Jesus will come again before we get an airdate ;_;).
In my head this happens right before they leave for the North Pole and they’re goofing around Air Temple Island with a prototype Future Industries camera (let’s just say they had a decent camera, I mean if they had life-altering plastic surgery).
The finished version of this sketch I posted a few days ago. I may have referenced some actual photos with friends for this, Also, I opted for sanity and screencapped the backgrounds.
Baby Bolin and Pabu…! I miss Legend of Korra a whole bunch. Can’t wait for it to start agaaaaain
Here is the back cover art for the Book 1 DVD/Blu-ray coming out July 16th, 2013, or at least, this was how I intended it to look. Tenzin and Lin had to be moved elsewhere to make room for type and graphics. Drawn by Ryu Ki Hyun, colored be me.
So spring is almost upon us and Nick decided to wipe the Whiteboard cabinets clean and have us start anew. The Following photo set is the result of The Korra Crew’s wacky imagination… Enjoy!
I love how people can just start doodling and just end up making the coolest things on accident. It’s really an art form all it’s own, doodling (pun not intended).
… also, I like how genderbent Bolin is hotter than Mako.
thanks to this show i can never take the word “spirit” seriously ever again
First off, here’s an update video for the Korra Artshow. I won’t be able to make it WHICH IS A HUGE BUMMER but I do have a couple pieces that will be on the gallery walls! And that is AWESOME.
Anyway, I was thinking about Atlas and how he had the world on his shoulders and how that could relate to the position of the Avatar. I just wanted to draw a sketch to practice the pose and ended up coloring it. Don’t really know what I was going for but practice pictures don’t need to ever make sense. Although I wouldn’t find it surprsing if Korra could chuck a boulder at her enemies with her bare hands if she wanted to :J
Korra belongs to Mike and Bryan
